About e-eAsel

e-eAsel was started in February, 2006 by Julianna Yau. At that time, e-eAsel was intended to be a hub for the development of open source tools for artists and the various groups which support artists (e.g. professional organizations, galleries, etc). The first tool developed was ArtDatabase.

Through conversations with other artists, it slowly became apparent that the intial goal of e-eAsel was too broad and not one which was helpful to most artists.

After scaling back the scope of e-eAsel a few times, the 2008 goal is to provide useful articles and other resources for existing open source tools which can be used effectively by artists and artists' groups. Support and development for ArtDatabase shall continue, but enhancements will not be made as frequently as originally anticipated.
